Rangers were on the end of a 4-1 thumping last night at the hands of Lyon. I said Lyon were massively over priced at just short of 2/1 and that proved to be the case. Lyon have some excellent players in forward areas and they were too much for a Rangers side who are in a big rebuild process and look to be a little bit slow in crucial areas. Fofana down Lyon’s left side had himself a field day up against Tavernier and Cerny. Form like that will earn Fofana a big move soon.

Onto the weekend now and I have 3 homes and 3 aways lined up for you. I like stats, and I’ve been following the XG in the early stages of the season. This weekend I’ve landed on these six teams and here’s my reasoning behind each team;

COVENTRY TO BEAT SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY
On the back of a convincing win against Blackburn in midweek I expect Coventry to see off Sheffield Wednesday. Sheffield Wednesday’s XG since they beat Plymouth on the first game of the season has comfortably been the worst in the league. Last 6 games XG – Coventry 7:11 vs Sheffield Wednesday 3:60.

BOLTON TO BEAT SHREWSBURY
Even though they have played one game more than some other teams, Shrewsbury’s XG is the lowest in the league. They face Bolton who have won their last three league games. Last 3 games XG – Bolton 6:19 vs Shrewsbury 2:11.

WYCOMBE TO BEAT CRAWLEY
Crawley are one of the worst teams in the league. They have been in the bottom 3 for XG in the last couple of game weeks. Last 6 games XG – Wycombe 8:88 vs Crawley 5:10.

MIDDLESBROUGH TO BEAT WATFORD
I like Middlesbrough this season. I think they are going well for a play off finish and they come into this game on the back of an impressive victory vs high flying WBA. Watford are a bit of a weird team but I’m basing this selection on Watford being in the bottom three for most XG allowed in 4 of the last 5 weeks. I think Middlesbrough will be too strong for them. Last 6 games XG – Watford 8:66 vs Middlesbrough 10.40.

BIRMINGHAM CITY TO BEAT CHARLTON
It won’t be too long until bookies slash the odds of Birmingham. They keep popping up at just under EVS right now and until that stops – I’ll just keep backing Blues to win. They were super impressive against Huddersfield in midweek. Second half they should’ve scored at least another two goals and their XG was high against one of the stronger sides in the league. Charlton conceded 3 to Bristol Rovers. Last 3 games XG – Charlton 4:10 vs Birmingham 5:68.

AFC WIMBLEDON TO BEAT SALFORD
Wimbledon are 11th right now with 3 games in hand over most teams. Salford are 4 points behind in 20th having played 2 games more . Wimbledon were impressive against Fleetwood earlier in the season beating them 1-0 and that clean sheet looks superb having seen Fleetwood’s form recently. Salford were comfortably beaten by Newport in their last game and this is a much tougher team. Last 3 games XG – Salford 1.88 vs AFC Wimbledon 4.29.

MIDDLESBROUGH, BIRMINGHAM, AFC WIMBLEDON ALL TO WIN – £10 PAYS £82.42 WITH BET365
