This is a game that I’ve had my eye on since the Bundesliga stated their intent to return. I strongly fancy Bayer Leverkusen to win this, along with a few goals in the game. Leverkusen are a very good side, they move the ball freely and they play with urgency and intent. The break came at the wrong time for them as they were on a fine run, winning four of their last five games – scoring two or more in all of their victories. It’s stark contrast to the run Werder Bremen was on as they were without a win in six league games and had lost five of them. Bremen have the worst defence in the league and the worst offence in the league, you could argue that the break came at the perfect time for them. Whether they have plugged their leaks is up for debate, but Leverkusen will test that to the maximum today. Bremen are missing a few key players, one of the notable absentees is Davy Klaassen who has scored four goals and assisted a further three in the league so far this season – he’s a big loss. I see Leverkusen taking this one.
